Valex high purity tubing

Here at Fluid Controls, we’re discerning about the products that we supply. That means we only stock components from manufacturers who adhere to the highest standards. One of whom is Valex, world-renowned producers of high purity tubing. Read on to find out more about their complete range of high purity stainless steel tubing products, which we proudly to bring to you.

Who are Valex?

Valex are industry-leading manufacturers of high purity stainless steel tubing. Their ultra-high purity tubing and components have been used in the semiconductor, TFT/LCD and solar industries since 1976. With their 40 years of accumulated experience, they deliver the highest quality products. Over the years, Valex have made huge advances in electropolishing, precision cleaning and welding at their three manufacturing locations in the US, China and Korea.

“As manufacturing processes grow more precise, our customers’ needs for stainless steel piping systems evolve to ever more demanding levels of cleanliness, leak integrity, corrosion resistance, and surface finish. A consistent and reliable source for the highest quality components and assemblies is essential for their success,” say Valex. Which is exactly why Fluid Controls stocks their precision high purity tubing.

Valex products

Fluid Controls supplies the full array of Valex high purity tubing and microelectronics tubing, including the following exceptional product ranges.

Valex SP-9220 high purity tubing

Valex SP-9220 high purity tubing is used for ultra-high purity systems requiring the highest grade of materials and certification. This electro-polished tubing comes in seamless or double welded single and double-melt 316L Alloy. It is available in ASTM tube sizes from 1/8″ to 6″, ASTM fittings from 1/4″ to 6″ and JIS Pipe: 8A to 300A.

All Valex SP-9220 high purity tubing is purged with UHP nitrogen, capped, double-bagged and packaged for shipment to prevent damage to the product and primary product packaging. Each component is traceable to its producing mill and heat by an identification number.

Valex 301 high purity stainless steel tubing

Valex’s 301 line of high purity stainless steel tubing comes in a single-melt 316L stainless steel alloy that can be seamless or welded, depending on the size. Available in ASTM Tube sizes of 1/8″ to 6″, 301 high purity tubing boasts an I.D. finish of 10 µin Ra and tolerances in accordance with ASTM: A 269 and A 632.

Square weld ends make this high purity stainless steel tubing range suitable for orbital welding, while every component is traceable to its producing mill and heat by an identification number marked within 24″ (610mm) of one end. For safety reasons, every piece of high purity tubing is purged with UHP nitrogen, capped, double-bagged and packaged to prevent any damage.

Valex quality assurance

Under magnification, raw material surfaces appear rough and are composed of “peaks and valleys”. Valex’s electropolishing process involves subjecting their high purity tubing to an electrolytic solution and current to selectively dissolve surface metal at an electron-microscopic level – ion by ion. The result is a micro-smooth and contaminant-free surface that is universally accepted as the “gold-standard” for ultra-high purity tubing.

Valex create and maintain ultra-high purity using ISO Class 5 clean rooms with semiconductor-quality deionised water and nitrogen to assure the highest levels of product integrity and performance. They employ sophisticated in-house testing technology to maintain the highest manufacturing standards. This includes a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to assure electropolish quality and metallurgical integrity, and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy equipment to verify the elemental composition of the stainless steel.
