Balston Filters
Parker Balston is a division of Parker Hannifin, a leading manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems. Fluid Controls are proud suppliers of Balston filters, providing precision-engineered solutions to a range of industries and applications, within the mobile, industrial and aerospace markets.
Balston compressed air filters are designed to increase the longevity of your equipment and protect delicate instruments from dirt, water and oil, which are usually found in compressed air. A Balston air filter removes any contaminant, with an efficiency of 99.99%, increasing the service life of your equipment and reducing maintenance costs. Parker Balston filters channel liquid from the filter cartridge to an automatic drain. Due to the rate of circulation, the filter is able to continuously remove dirt for an unlimited time, without loss of efficiency or flow capacity.
Balston filters housing
Balston air filters are constructed of anodised aluminium and stainless steel. Anodised aluminium is durable, resistant to corrosion and has an anodic oxide finish. Stainless steel is also resistant to corrosion and is extremely versatile. This material make-up allows Balston compressed air filters to be used effectively in a wide range of applications, ensuring long term reliability and performance.
Larger, mainline Parker Balston filters (3”pipe and up) are ASME code stamped, constructed of carbon steel and feature epoxy coated internals. This enhances the robustness of the filter and further reduces maintenance requirements, an all important feature for large systems and pieces of equipment.
Why choose a Balston air filter?
Parker Balston filters have a wide range of exemplary features, making them an obvious choice in heavy duty, hard wearing environments. The ability to remove 99.99% of oil, water and solids from compressed air applications is a huge benefit of the Balston compressed air filter, whilst their long filter cartridge life is a huge added bonus, eliminating costs.
These filters also have a low pressure drop and come in a complete range of sizes from ¼” to 10” ports, allowing the components to be used in a range of industrial applications.
Where are Balston filters used?
Common applications of a Balston air filter can include:
• Desiccant and refrigerant air dryers.
• Compressor inter or outer coolers.
• Aircraft or aerospace applications.
• Gas turbines.
