Here at Fluid Controls, we supply a large range of pressure regulators from some of one of the most respected manufacturers in the industry, Bürkert. One of their most popular products is their top of the range Bürkert pressure regulators. In this blog, we will look further into this reliable range and explain how pressure regulators work and what they are.
A pressure regulator works by matching the flow of a gas that passes through the regulator to the demand for the gas placed upon it while keeping an on-going output pressure. If the load flows of the regulator decreases then the flow of the regulator must also decrease. Vice-versa, if the load flow increases then the regulator flow must also increase in order to stop the controlled pressure from decreasing because of a shortage of gas in the system.
A pressure regulator is a control valve that is used to reduce the pressure of a fluid to a specific valve at its output. Regulators can be used for both liquids and gases making it an integral device. All of the regulator’s parts are in one body with an output pressure setting, a restrictor and a sensor or they can consist of a separate pressure sensor, flow valves and controller.
Bürkert Type TFU006 – Pressure regulator for water
Bürkert’s pressure regulator for water, the Type TFU006 is a regulator that works on pressure reduction principle. The regulator is made up of a housing, a diaphragm or piston valve with a spring cap and adjustable spring. The Bürkert regulator is available to buy in four different versions, two brass versions with international drinking water and DVGW approvals, a stainless steel version with DVGW approval and a compact plastic version.
