Our Guide to Bürkert Process Valves

Process valves are available in a wide variety of designs and sizes. They are normally used in controlling things like pressure, liquid level, liquid flow or temperature in given industrial applications. Bürkert is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of measurement and control systems for liquids and gases, and has been at the cutting edge of fluid control for over 60 years. Little wonder, then, that Bürkert process valves are among the most in-demand valve products that we supply at Fluid Controls.

Bürkert offers an extensive range of equipment to actuate, monitor, network, position and decentralise process control into the field. This is facilitated by pilot valves, feedback switches, controls heads, positioners, and process valves. Keep reading for our guide to some of Bürkert’s most innovative process valve products.

Bürkert Process Valves

Bürkert’s innovative and ever-evolving approach has resulted in a remarkable range of attractive and hardworking process valves, which can be combined to give the best possible fit for purpose. With unlimited modularity, Bürkert process valves can save time with products specially suited to a broad range of media. From slurries to steam, and deionized water to hydrochloric acid, Bürkert process valves provide peace of mind and guarantee quality products backed by years of experience and innovation in fluid control technology.

“With our innovative approach to your success, we secure your process efficiency, lower your downtime, increase your safety and boost your competitive advantage. Whether you need a single component or a complex system solution, we always focus on optimum process reliability, efficiency, and economy. With our certified quality system in accordance with ISO 9000 – 9004, we do it right and on time.”  – Bürkert, 2021.

Angle Seat On/Off Valves

  • High flow rates
  • Tight shutoff
  • High cycle life

An ideal alternative to complex actuated ball valves, the Bürkert angle seat valve range is a real fit and forget solution. Bürkert is known as the market leader with angle seat valve configuration, and this pattern is deployed successfully around the world in thousands of customer’s machines and factories. These high quality valves can be configured to regulate flow below the seat for all media for soft opening and closing and waterhammer free operation. They can also regulate flow above the seat for compressible media including gases and steam, using a smaller actuator.

Burkert Type 2300

Bürkert’s Type 2300 angle-seat valve fulfills tough criteria for process environments. Available in either gunmetal or stainless steel, with a durable PTFE seal for tight shut-off, this durable process valve option offers unrivaled cycle life. Sealing integrity is guaranteed by the proven self-adjusting packing gland, while the parabolic trim results in a flow characteristic approximately 35% larger than conventional control valves. With the Type 2300, you can expect the combined benefits of good control and high flow rate as well as a long and reliable service life.

Diaphragm On/Off Valves

Available in a wide range of plastic and metallic materials, the isolated and media-resistant design of Bürkert’s diaphragm on/off valves has an excellent reputation for versatility and reliability in both aseptic and industrial applications where corrosive, pure or abrasive media are controlled. The diaphragm is the key performance component within a modular architecture, and is relied upon to provide leak-proof shutoff to the downstream side of the weir, to atmosphere and to the actuator mechanism.

The Bürkert Type 6213 2/2 way diaphragm valve is a servo-assisted solenoid valve from the S.EV series. The spring coupling of the diaphragm supports the opening process of the valve and, in its standard version, the valve is suitable for use in liquids. A minimum differential pressure is required for complete opening, but a special version (HP00) opens the valve without differential pressure. This is available for gas and vacuum applications. Various diaphragm material combinations are available depending on your application.

Bürkert’s products remain at the cutting edge of fluid control technology as they continuously research & develop their understanding of all aspects of polymer and rubber technology, diaphragm design and lean production techniques.
