Sanitary and Pharmaceutical Regulators

Fluid Controls can supply a complete range of Sanitary and Pharmaceutical Regulators. Steriflow, a division of Jordan Valve, offers a wide range of Sanitary Pressure Regulators designed to regulate pressure in systems requiring the maintenance of sanitary conditions.

Sanitary Back Pressure Regulator

The Mark 95 Series Sanitary Back Pressure Regulator is designed to regulate the upstream pressure to prevent overpressure situations from occurring, which could damage valuable equipment or disturb the process itself, such as when downstream demand reduces or stops. Available with a hard or soft seat, and a variety of diaphragm and O-ring materials, this valve is well-suited for virtually any sterile back pressure application.

The Mark 95 operates by sensing the inlet pressure, or back pressure, beneath the diaphragm, as flow enters from inlet port on the side. As the back pressure exceeds the setpoint, the diaphragm force compresses the range spring; permitting the stem to move from the seat toward the open position.

As the flow increases, the back pressure is relieved and the spring and diaphragm relax, allowing the stem to return to the normally closed position. If a different set point is desired, a simple turn of the adjusting screw will increase or decrease the setting to any set point within the range covered by the regulator’s spring.

Sanitary Pressure Regulators

The Mark 96 Series Sanitary Pressure Regulator is designed to regulate pressure in systems requiring the maintenance of sanitary conditions. Now available with DIN &I ISO tri-clamp and tube weld ends as options, the Mark 96 operates by sensing pressure under the diaphragm on the downstream side of the seat.

As the downstream pressure approaches the setpoint, the force caused by the pressure acting on the diaphragm overcomes the force of the range spring and the plug begins to move up toward closed. This reduces the downstream pressure and maintains the set point. If the pressure underneath the diaphragm begins to fall, the spring forces the plug to move down towards open, to allow the set point to be maintained.

The Mark 95 and 96 Series come with the Jorlon diaphragm as standard. If you are looking to extend the life of your regulators and reduce the overall cost of ownership, then look no further than Steriflow Valve’s Jorlon diaphragm. Jorlon is a structurally modified PTFE with FDA and USP Class VI approval. Jorlon is a proprietary modified PTFE material that positively impacts regulator reliability, performance and service life.
